Hello, my name is David Watkins, founder of Turf Nerd Lawn Care.  

I am often asked, why I chose “Turf Nerd” for the name of my company? The answer is, the name chose me... Many years ago, my colleagues nicknamed me “The Turf Nerd” as an endearing way to poke fun at me for my enthusiasm regarding turf science. They were having fun, but I embraced the name as a compliment and a badge of honor. I take my profession seriously, I love turf science and I may even be considered somewhat eccentric by some.  To me, that is something to be proud of.  

As Abraham Lincoln simply stated, “Whatever you are, be a good one.”  ...I am a Turf Nerd.
